I revel in spontaneously creating fluffy and fuzzy textures, loving their asymmetry, their wonky colour combinations, irregularity and contrast in texture: matt and shiny, rough and smooth, hard and soft. My favourite yarns are super soft baby alpaca from Ecuador, as well as the cuddly 'popcorn' yarns from Spain. And of course the various mohair blends from France,Belgium and Germany.
The scarves are 5-7 metres in length and usually 18-22 cm in width. They are all one-of-a-kind, although various themes may be repeated. Some of them are available for purchase; commissions are also accepted.
Please click on the thumbnail photos to see larger versions of the texures used in some of my scarves.
From top to bottom:
- 'Chanel Rouge' : mainly alpaca yarns, some mohair+acrylic blends, embellished with bows, ribbon and metal beads.
- 'Chanel Turquoise' : as above.
- 'Midnight Fantasy' : mohair, acrylic, nylon, viscose yarns, with bows, fringes and metal.
